For citizens of Ukraine, the visa application process is mandatory, as there is no visa-free regime between Ukraine and Japan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>1. Determine the type of visa<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first step is to choose the right type of visa. Depending on the purpose of your trip, you can apply for one of the following visa categories:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Tourist visa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 for short-term trips, including for recreation, excursions or visiting relatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Guest visa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 for those planning to visit relatives or friends in Japan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Business visa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 for business trips, participation in exhibitions, conferences or business meetings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Student visa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 for people planning to study in Japan at universities or language schools.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Work visa<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2014 for employment in Japan based on a contract with a Japanese employer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>2. Preparation of necessary documents<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you have decided on the type of visa, the next step is to prepare the necessary documents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><b> Submission of documents<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After all the documents are prepared, you need to submit them to the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine or a consulate in another country if you are abroad. Documents are submitted <\/span><b>personally<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or through a proxy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><b> Visa application and waiting for a decision<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After submitting your documents, your documents will be reviewed by the Embassy of Japan. The visa application process usually takes 5 to 10 business days, but it is recommended to submit your documents at least 2\u20133 weeks before your planned travel date. Depending on the type of visa, the consulate may request additional documents or conduct an interview.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>5. Obtaining a visa<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once your visa is approved, you will receive a visa in your passport. Make sure all the details on the visa are correct and you are ready to travel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE NEEDED TO APPLY FOR A VISA TO JAPAN<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>1. Passport<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which must be valid for at least 6 months after the planned date of return from Japan.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><b>2. Completed application form. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The application form is filled out in English or Japanese. It can be obtained from the website of the Embassy of Japan or at the consulate.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><b>3. 2 color photos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 4.5 \u00d7 4.5 cm in size, taken no more than 6 months ago.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><b>4. Confirmation of the purpose of the trip<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a tourist visa: confirmation of hotel reservation or travel plan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a guest visa: an invitation from relatives or friends in Japan (in writing) along with a copy of the inviting person&#039;s passport.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For a business visa: invitation from a Japanese company, contract or invitation letter.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>5. Confirmation of financial capacity. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bank statement for the last 3\u20136 months or a letter from your job confirming your ability to cover the costs of your trip.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><b>6. Copies of tickets and reservations. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copies of your return ticket and confirmation of hotel or accommodation reservation for the entire period of your stay in Japan.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><b>7. Certificate from the place of work (for a business visa). <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A confirmation letter from an employer or company in Ukraine confirming your employment.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><b>8.
